Betting and Casino Terms for Beginners
New to online betting? Get familiar with these key terms before you start placing bets so your decisions are better informed.
Asian Handicap
An Asian-style handicap betting system that eliminates the draw outcome. A head start is given to the weaker team to level the odds between both sides.
Over-Under (Totals)
A bet on the total number of goals, points or scores in a match — you bet on whether the total will be over or under a set value.
Odds Formats
Odds can be displayed in decimal (1.85), fractional (17/20) or American (+120) format. Decimal format is most commonly used in Asia and Malaysia.
RTP (Return to Player)
The long-term percentage of wagered money that will be returned to players on average. For example, an RTP of 96% means an average of RM96 is returned for every RM100 wagered.
House Edge
The mathematical advantage a casino platform holds in every game. The lower the house edge, the better the player's chances of winning over the long term.
Wagering Requirement
The bonus rollover condition — the amount that must be wagered before bonus funds can be withdrawn. At kisy918, the wagering requirement is 10x the bonus amount received.
Live Dealer Casino
An online casino with real human dealers streamed live via video. Players can interact and place bets in real time, just like being at a physical casino.
Slot Volatility
A measure of how often and how large wins are in a slot game. High volatility wins less frequently but pays out bigger prizes, while low volatility wins more often with smaller prizes.
Progressive Jackpot
A jackpot that keeps growing as players across a network place bets. The prize pool accumulates from multiple players and increases until someone wins it.
Cashback
A small portion of your losses returned to you as cash or credit. At kisy918, cashback is given weekly based on your VIP tier, ranging from 0.2% to 1.0%.
Mix Parlay
Combining two or more bet selections into a single ticket. All selections must win for a payout — the risk is higher but the multiplied returns are much greater.
In-Play / Live Betting
Betting on a match as it unfolds in real time. Odds shift with the flow of the game, giving you strategic opportunities throughout the match.
